So you're calling it done, then.
Well, fine. Go ahead. Don't ask us, we're not important. ( No, that's okay, I'll just sit here in the dark. )
Seriously, thank you for the music and the inspiration. I've given out Rubai and Flatfish so many times I've lost count. Now I have to get some 'keeper' copies. All the best to the four of you. I hope your music keeps going, together or apart. It's certainly helped me.
See you soon;
Mark

I was riveted from the first moment I heard Rubai.
Magic like that is rare chemistry indeed -- usually found amidst a very hard work that few will ever know about.
While the news of your parting saddens me, I do hope you'll always be friends together; the future shines brightest along that path.
May the Muse carry you always.
From: Sandy Iredale Date: March 5, 2009 16:20:01 GMT Subject: Greetings from Canada
I just wanted to say Thanks for all the great music. Im listening to Flatfish at work this afternoon and a co-worker asked me what I was listening to, she said she loves it!
After our conversation I remembered when I met Flook. You performed in a little town in Eastern Ontario (Pembroke) in late 2003 or early 2004 (I forget exactly). Of course I loved your music too, and purchased two cds because I was so sad when the concert was over!!
Shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I think you should know that during the 2 years of treatment that followed, whenever I needed some energy to deal with my day or I needed just to lay around and dream of better days, your music provided me the energy or quietude (depending on the song!) that I required. I believe my recovery was due in large part to the creative and therefore healing quality of the music, books and art that I surrounded myself with at that time.
You may never know what good you do. So Ive written to let you know what good youve done for me.
Blessings,
Sandy Iredale

Hi All,
Paul and I and our younger son Adam were all devastated to hear the news of your decision to stop playing together HOPEFULLY TEMPORARILY.
We've so much enjoyed all the gigs of yours we have been at in all sorts of venues in different parts of the UK and cannot imagine how it will be without our regular fix of Flook magic.
To cheer us up I've just ordered brand new copies of all your CDs as the others are getting rather worn out through being played so much!
We would like to send you each lots of love, and wish you all much happiness in the future. May you have a quiet mind and a peaceful heart!
Hi Flook,
I am so sad to hear you're 'calling it a day.'
You have been such massive influence on me and my music making! I play flute, and you guys have inspired me so much from such a young age!!!
Thank you all so much!
And good luck to you all!
You will be missed!

So sorry to hear your news. Of all the bands we've seen you're the most watchable and most fun as well as amongst the most talented and skilled. So glad we caught you at Hammersmith t'other week.
Will miss you loads and could you leave us a little hope of occasional reunions?................

Hi Flook!
A song for you all. It is one of Kate's. I changed the words here and there.
Fare thee well
Hold on steady and strong,
Here's the dawn coming on won't be long,
Then the sun will come shining through,
To show you the place you once knew.
Chorus: Fare thee well,
Fare thee well and adieu,
Fare thee well,
With this song you'll be gone,
Fare thee well.
Flook has stopped and it's fine.
You played music for years down the line.
Possibileties are stretching behind the sun,
We send you off with a big, big, well done!
Chorus:
Hold on steady and strong,
Here's the dawn coming on won't be long,
Succeeding with devotion and feeling again,
In our hearts you will surely remain.
Chorus;
I will miss you,but wish you all the best and hope to hear from you in whatever setting you will play.
Love,
Martine

It was always my hope that Flook would make it back to our little town of Silver City, New Mexico, USA. Your talent enthralled us all! To learn that you are "calling it a day" makes that hope seem impossible now. But I know thatyour music will be appreciated for decades to come through cd's and memories of those who heard you. Thank you for sharing your amazing talents with the world. May your new dreams come true and your lives be blessed.

Sad news for us fans! I'm gonna miss you. The greatest band I know is gonna stop. I was hoping for a new album in 2009. Fortunately I had the privilege of seeing you twice in 2007 in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Thanks for bringing your music into the world and I hope we will hear from you again. Best of luck to you all!!

We first heard you at the Milwaukee Irish Festival and have been fans ever since! We so greatly appreciated your coming to the Cedar in Minneapolis, too. All things change, so we understand that Flook needs a rest, a change, or a transformation. But before that, why not give the world one last chance and do a Flook Fairwell Tour? Of course, this must include Minneapolis. Please consider it, at least.
Best wishes for your future and may our paths cross again,

Bonsoir a tous =)

Hi GuysGreat to have the chance to see you playing live again in the Midlands.
Fantastic gig (as always) and congratulations on finding the wonderful banjo player and vocalist, Damien O'Kane - a fine addition to an already very talented group.
Hope you have all managed to cool down after the very warm evening in Lichfield, it was hot enough in the audience just sitting there so goodness knows what it was like for you all on stage :-s
A special thanks to John Joe for delivering an excellent bodhran solo (how do you get so many sounds out of such an instrument?) despite suffering from a very large blister on his hand. A true professional as, of course, you all are.
Hope to see you in our part of the world again very soon.Keeping making great music.
Cheers

Just wanted to thanks for a fantastic gig on Saturday at Wiltshire Music Centre, it was my third Flook experience (the last was the 10th Anniversary one at St George's Bristol) and it was lovely to hear some stunning new tunes along side the familiar ones. the addition of Damien O'Kane brought something extra - never thought I'd hear a song at a Flook gig.
We were very impressed that Brian managed to play at all in light of his bandaged fingers but it didn't seem to affect his playing, not from the audience anyway; if he was playing through pain he didn't show it, what a guy. Well done guys, you were all brilliant and can't wait for a new album!

Sorry it was Newbury not Aldershot I saw you last, memory is playing tricks with me now. As expected a wonderful gig at Bradford, you are all so tight together and not a note out of place. Damien is a great addition to the line up adding to the richness of your overall sound. Good to see Ed still has plenty of shaggy dog stories to tell, and John Joe playing the banjo!! Is there any end to your talents.
Hope the fingers are not to painful Brian, did not seem to restrict your superb playing. Loved the Tortoise track written by Sarah its now one of my favourites, what a beautiful melody. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon, come back to the Berkshire / Wessex area again as soon as you can fit it in.

Hello people!!
My name is Herco Schuchard and i am a huge fan of your music!!
I kind of grew up with Irish music and i play the whistle myself!
I have two questions that i wanted to ask?
Are you coming to folkwoods in Veldhoven Holland this year or anywhere in Holland soon?
And a question for Brian, In "Wrong foot forward" what key and what kind of whistle do you play it in?
I ask this question because i only have a low and high whistle in D!!
My teach says it probably is the f whistle is she correct?
Can you help me out?
Anyway keep doing what you are doing and once more: You guys are the best!!

Hey,
Just thought I would pop in and say thanks for playing at Saint Martins today. Hopefully you had a good time, we certainly enjoyed it. Particular mention goes to the light hearted banter and the bodhran solo (which was the best one I have ever seen and also the only one I have ever seen:)) You seemed to entertain everybody and even got "Mr Stock" to have a little jig at the back of the room.
