Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival
(http://www.shakorihills.org/)

This was one of the hardest gigs we have done in a while - the crowd was warm and friendly but the wind was biting cold. The audience were lucky - they could snuggle under their duvets ...

Anyway the sun came out after we had played and we hung in and listened to some of the other acts.

Edinburgh Youth Gaitherin
April 4th-7th

Sarah and Brian had a great week of music making up in Edinburgh, teaching at the Youth Gaitherin.

On the Tuesday afternoon, the activity was "In Conversation with Brian and Sarah" and they were subjected to an hour's amusing questioning from kids aged 9-18. After Sarah confessed she used to play the church organ, Brian was forced to admit he used to play the bassoon! Sadly for him, there was a bassoon student (thank you, Sorley!) present and so Brian was duly put to the test. He failed magnificently. As one of her whistle students remarked to Sarah later, "He first sounded like a fart, then like an elephant, and then like an elephant's fart!!" (move your cursor over the pic of Brian below left ...)
